Hello, good day, ma’am. I worked in Hong Kong for five years. My contract was supposed to finish in 2021, but my employer and her family decided to move to Canada. I broke my contract for a good reason, which was their relocation. I have one son who is now 17 years old. I have a partner, who is the father of my son, and we’ve been together for 19 years, but we are not married yet. I consider myself a hardworking person. Before I worked in Hong Kong, I was cooking food to sell at a terminal, but then the government decided to move that terminal to another location. That’s why I decided to apply to work in Hong Kong, to save money for my son. I had a good relationship with my employer, especially with Poh Poh, the mother of my madam. She can’t speak English, but I tried to learn some basic Cantonese to communicate with her. My employer’s mother would like me to continue working with her if they move to Canada. I really want to continue working in Hong Kong, but I need to return to the Philippines because my son is graduating from elementary school and then going into high school. I want to guide him during these important teenage years and keep him aware of bad influences. Now that my son has graduated from high school, he is starting to take a course, but the tuition is very expensive, and our income isn’t enough for his education. I want to work abroad again to provide for my son’s needs, and I really want to help him finish his studies. I hope I can find an employer who will support us. I promise to love your son or daughter as my own, and I will respect and follow your house rules. I really hope you will choose me, and I would be happy to serve you.
