Domestic helper with Elderly Care Experience

I am seeking a kind, patient, trustworthy and responsible domestic helper to look after my 92-year-old father and manage our household.

Our household consists of just two people: my father and me. Until recently, my father was fully independent. Following a hospital stay due to bone fractures and associated nerve pain, his mobility has been affected. He has made significant progress in his recovery and can still walk, although he may occasionally need assistance or a wheelchair.

As I travel frequently for business, I am looking for someone reliable who can provide companionship, assist my father when necessary and, most importantly, help ensure his safety when I am away from home.

Main Duties

1. Elderly Care and Safety (Top Priority)

• Provide companionship and attentive care for my 92-year-old father.
• Be present at home to provide appropriate supervision and help reduce the risk of falls or other accidents.
• Assist with walking, getting around the apartment and around the building garden, clubhouse using a wheelchair when necessary.
• Help with when required on bathing, toileting, dressing and personal hygiene as required.
• Prepare suitable meals and ensure he eats and drinks regularly.
• Keep the home safe and tidy, with particular attention to preventing falls.
• Monitor his general well-being and promptly inform me of any concerns, accidents or changes in his condition.
• Keep in regular contact with me while I am travelling and seek appropriate assistance in an emergency.

2. Cooking and Housekeeping

• Prepare daily meals for the household.
• Carry out normal household duties, including cleaning, laundry, ironing and keeping the apartment organised.
• Maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.

3. Car Cleaning

• Clean one family car approximately 2–3 times per week.

Accommodation and Living Environment

• Comfortable apartment of approximately 1,000 sq. ft.
• Only two household members: my father and me.
• Private bedroom and private bathroom for the helper, with a small balcony.
• Pleasant and comfortable living environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience caring for elderly people is strongly preferred.
• Patient, caring, honest, reliable and responsible.
• Able to assist an elderly person with reduced mobility safely and respectfully.
• Attentive to safety and capable of responding calmly to unexpected situations.
• Able to manage household duties independently when I am travelling.
• Good cooking skills and good personal hygiene.
• Able to communicate clearly and keep me updated on my father’s well-being.
• References from previous employers are preferred.

The Person We Are Looking For

This position is suitable for someone who enjoys caring for elderly people while managing a small household. Trustworthiness, attentiveness and a caring attitude are more important than simply completing housework.
