Experienced Household Helpers Wanted

We are a happy, warm and kind Canadian-Austrian expat family of four, with two daughters aged 6 and 8 and two cats, living in Stanley. We are looking for two experienced live-in domestic helpers to join our household. We hope to find two people who will become trusted members of our home, enjoy working together and value open, respectful and calm communication.

We believe in having clear and fair responsibilities. The two helpers will work on a weekly rotating schedule: one helper will primarily take care of cooking, kitchen duties, laundry and the cats, while the other focuses primarily on cleaning and organisation of the home. The following week, they swap roles, so responsibilities are shared equally.

We are looking for helpers who are excellent at both cleaning and cooking, well organised and have very good attention to detail. Both should be confident cooks who enjoy preparing a good variety of family meals.

We really appreciate people who take pride in their work and are naturally proactive — noticing when something needs cleaning, organising, replacing or restocking and being comfortable managing their responsibilities independently.

Our home is large and spread across five floors. There is a lift, but the role includes both indoor and outdoor household work, so we are looking for people who are energetic, organised and comfortable helping to manage a larger home.

Very good spoken English and English comprehension are important, as we want everyone in the household to be able to communicate easily and comfortably. We also really value people who are happy to ask questions whenever something is unclear. We have no nationality preference.

One parent is at home and takes primary responsibility for our daughters, so childcare is not the main focus of the role. However, it is important to us that both helpers genuinely like children and can develop a warm and caring relationship with the girls. Occasionally, the helpers may look after them when we go out in the evening.
