Household Manager / Domestic Helper for Western Family

We are a Western family living long-term in Hong Kong: two adults working full-time, an 18-year-old daughter studying abroad, and three calm rescue cats. We are seeking an exceptional person to join our household in a long-term role built on trust, professionalism and mutual respect. Our current housekeeper, who has been with us for ten years, is retiring.

The position focuses on high-level household management: maintaining an immaculate, beautifully organised home; laundry; tidying; organising; grocery shopping; caring for our cats; and acting as a trusted point of contact when we are at work or travelling.

Cooking is an important part of the role. While I enjoy cooking and baking myself, you will often be the main cook on weekdays. We are looking for someone with a natural feel for food, who follows recipes, is open to learning "our cuisine" and takes pride in preparing healthy, high-quality meals, including mise en place with little instruction and creativity.

We are looking for someone highly organised, discreet and reliable, with excellent judgement and a proactive mindset, who works independently and thinks ahead. A genuine love for cats is essential. Knowledge of Cantonese is a significant advantage. Taxis and Uber are fully supported for running errands.

We value intelligence, initiative and long-term commitment. An affinity for sailing or other water activities would be a welcome bonus.

We offer outstanding working conditions, including a private helper’s room and bathroom, a very competitive salary, one annual flight home, all statutory and public holidays (or taken flexibly by mutual agreement), and a weekly rest day (Sunday or another day, flexible). Privacy, autonomy and independent time management are encouraged once trust is established.
