Western family looking for a full time helper

We are a warm and respectful Western family looking for a long‑term live‑in helper to join our home in Ma Wan/Park Island. We have two young daughters (4 and 6 years old) and are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being active with children and helping them grow.We go back to work on 10th August. You need to be available on 7th August at the latest, so you can get to know the children. We can sign the paperwork in June to begin processing in July if required.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is already based in Hong Kong - finished contract or terminated for financial/relocation
• Confident with spoken English or be willing to ask when unsure
• Has at least 4 years of experience
• Has previous experience caring for young children
• Can swim and supervise child/children safely in a shallow pool
• Is comfortable cooking at least two cuisines (e.g. Western + Chinese/Thai/Asian)
• Can plan and cook daily family meals confidently
• Can provide at least one reference

• Proactive and has good common sense
• Observant and able to manage household supplies (e.g. noticing when items are running low)
• Can use WhatsApp and HKTV Mall (or be willing to learn)
• Organised and able to plan ahead
• Active and happy to take children outdoors - we live on an island, so a beach lover or someone who enjoys short walks/hikes is ideal
• Engaged with children or can direct them to activities such as painting (minimal screen use)
• Willing to go on play dates or have another child/children come to playWe understand this is a long list. We want you to be with us until our kids are grown or you need to return to your own family.

What can do for you:

• Above minimum wage with potential increases after 3 months and completion of contract
• Christmas and birthday gifts
• Sundays off
• Public and Statutory holidays (although if you prefer to work on public holidays for additional money, that is your choice)
• We are teachers, so sometimes we travel during the holidays. If we do, then you are also free to travel
• Own separate bedroom with aircon and TV - not a shoebox. We have a specially designed full-size bunk bed. Underneath has a personal wardrobe and shelves
• When children have gone to bed, your duty ends. Occasionally, we may need you to be available to help children at night if we go out for dinner
• No curfew, your private time is your own
• Both girls are full-time at school. We take them to school (7am - 4:30/5pm) so you will have plenty of rest time during the week. They only need to be collected once weekly for a swimming lesson, then travel home together. They may need to be collected on an additional day if we have after-school commitments

No agencies. We can arrange a visa. If we process a visa through an agency, we will use a reputable one, not one that tries to charge you!
