British Family Looking For Trustworthy Helper

Hi,

We are a British family of three (husband, wife and one 10 year old boy) who have two dogs one Daschund (almost 9 years old) and one Sheltie Sheepdog (almost 3 years old). We live in a 4 bedroom condo in the West Coast area of Singapore. We need a helper from early June 2025 or before. 

We are looking for a pro-active, dedicated and no drama helper. They must have an easy going personality and are organised, conscientious and hard working and can limit phone usage during working hours. 

Please ensure you meet the following criteria before reading on and seeing the job description and benefits of working for us. You must be:

• In Singapore and available to transfer between 29th May 2025 - 10th June 2025 and have reference letter/s.
• Experienced and enjoy spending with children 10 years and above.
• Loves dogs and is experienced with dogs and enjoys keeping fit and therefore will enjoy walking them
• A great cook who can cook western, middle eastern and Asian foods, as well as following recipes. So needs to be able to read English well.
• Excellent at cleaning and laundry and needs little guidance. An easy-going attitude and is never moody and can take feedback well.
• Have at least one letter of reference and even better if more. Must speak very good English and can read and write English well. 

The role will include:

Cleaning and tidying the apartment each day to a high standard. Completing laundry and ironing well and understand about not mixing colours. Cooking for mainly lunches and dinners (we will expect candidates to be able to cook middle eastern, western, Chinese, Thai and Indian cuisines). It is imperative you are able to adjust cooking to western tastes e.g. Using less salt and oil in cooking. You must have cooked in your previous employment and your references must mention your cooking abilities. You will also be looking after and caring for our dogs in our absence at work. Therefore, you must love dogs and enjoy walking them (the morning walk needs to be for around 1 hour and will be in the park and to the dog run each morning). Childcare will be minimal as our son will be 10 years old and we take responsibility for him. However, we will need you to child-mind on days when he has no school and on evenings when we go out. So a positive approach to child-minding is needed, who is able to build a good bond with our son and someone who follows out style of parenting.

Benefits: 

• You will have their own room (bomb shelter) which has a bed, small wardrobe, shelves and bedside. The bedroom leads onto an outdoor area and it has a table and chair for you to eat and sit in the fresh air and also own bathroom (cold water only). 
• You will get all Sundays and PH off (unless asked in advance or if we are on holiday, but you would be paid for any extra days).
• Hours will be on Monday-Friday from 6am to around 7.30pm. So lots of downtime in the evening.
• On Saturday the hours will mainly be from 9am-6pm. On the occasional evening we will need to you child-mind and look after the dogs if we are both out. We will always ask in advance. 
• Starting wages will be from 800-950 sgd per month. $950 will only be paid to those very experienced and also with more than one reference letter. 
• There will be no food allowance, however you can eat what we eat or make your own food from our cupboards. We will always ask if you want anything specific when I complete the weekly food shop. There will always be meat, vegetables, fruits, rice, pasta, noodles, sauces and coffee/tea available. 
• Basic toiletries will be provided. 
• Use of WiFi, but to be used after working hours, during break times or work purposes.
• 15 days holiday after first two year contract, with paid for flight and luggage allowance. This will be yearly after the first two year contract (this part is negotiable and we could do yearly holiday if needed to see children).

The selection process will be a two-step process: firstly we will ask a set questions by message and ask for references to be shared. Then if successful, we will then require you to attend an interview in person which will be for between 30-60 mins and you must attend.
