British & French family in Katong (2 adults, 8 & 11yo boys)

About Us: We are a warm and welcoming blended family, seeking a resourceful, flexible, and discreet Domestic Helper to join us in early May. Our beloved current helper is embarking on a new adventure with her partner in the US after 7 years with us. We are a British (of Vietnamese origin) and French (Caucasian) family - wife/mum, husband/stepdad, and our two sons aged 8 and 11. We also have two daughters, aged 16 and 20, who live in Europe but visit us for 2-4 weeks each year during their school holidays. Both adults in the household work full-time and commute to their respective offices 3-4 days a week.

In our blended family setup, our sons alternate their time between our home in Katong (approximately 60% of the time) and their father's home in Bedok (around 40%), with some changes depending on parental work commitments/travel. We pride ourselves on amicable and seamless co-parenting, which requires good communication and coordination between the helpers of both households. While some days are busier than others, there are also lighter days when the boys are not at home with us.

Our new helper will enjoy live-in accommodation in our comfortable 4-bedroom condo in Katong, where we have resided since 2017. The designated living quarters for the helper includes a cozy room with a window, accessible via the yard (not a bomb shelter).

Key Responsibilities:

• School Collection: Safely collect the boys from school at Farrer Park and transport them to either our condo in Katong or their father's home in Bedok using public transport, as per a predetermined schedule (no work is required at their father's home).
• Cooking and Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious Asian and Western cuisine for lunches and dinners, including early morning meal prep on school days for packed lunches.
• Home Maintenance: Uphold the cleanliness and tidiness of our minimalist home, as we prioritise a clutter-free environment. We seek a helper who shares the same values regarding cleanliness and organisation, and who will care for their own space as well as the common areas.
• Grocery Shopping: Responsible for shopping for groceries and household essentials, ensuring our home remains stocked with necessary items. Conveniently, we have several supermarkets, including FairPrice and Sheng Siong, within walking distance of our condo.
• Discipline and Support for Our Boys: Our boys are lively and cheerful, yet they maintain manners and discipline. We emphasise kindness and courteousness, and we rely on your support to monitor their behaviour and ensure they complete their schoolwork, including homework and Mandarin practice.
• [Bonus] Tutoring: While not a requirement, it would be greatly appreciated if our helper could assist with supervising the boys’ homework and provide guidance when necessary.
