Experienced Helper Wanted — Cooking, Household Management & Dog Care | Near Botanic Gardens

We are a mixed Australian–Singaporean family of two adults, a four-year-old boy and two medium-sized dogs, looking for an experienced helper for a long-term position.

Preferred start: November 2026–January 2027, by agreement.

ABOUT OUR FAMILYWe are hands-on parents in a bilingual English- and Chinese-speaking household. We enjoy friendly conversation, home-cooked meals and a clean, neat and tidy home.

Good English communication, including reading and following written instructions, is essential. Chinese is helpful but not required.

COOKING AND HOUSEHOLD RESPONSIBILITIES• Prepare Western and Asian meals using our planned menus and recipes.• Baking bread, cakes and cookies is a plus; otherwise, willingness to learn is important.• Plan preparation and cooking so meals are ready on time.• Check kitchen supplies and maintain a weekly grocery list.• Manage leftovers and minimise food wastage.• Complete basic daily cleaning, weekly deep cleaning, laundry, ironing and kitchen upkeep.

DOG CARE AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITYYou must genuinely enjoy dogs and be comfortable caring for two medium-sized dogs.

Their daily routine includes:• Two 45-minute walks.• Three additional short outings for toilet breaks and play, with our son joining them to play downstairs.• Feeding three times daily.• Cleaning bowls and dog areas.

This is an active role. You must be able to walk comfortably for 45 minutes at a time, safely handle both dogs and supervise our son attentively during shared outings.

CHILDCAREWe care for our son ourselves most of the time. Alongside the shared outdoor outings, we need childcare support while we exercise and during occasional gaps in our schedules.

This is usually around one hour, but some days may require 1–1.5 hours in the morning and another hour in the afternoon. You must genuinely enjoy children and be patient, kind and attentive.

ORGANISATION AND COMMUNICATIONWe provide a work phone. Menus, recipes, instructions and daily, weekly and monthly task lists are shared mainly through apps and WhatsApp.

You must be able to understand spoken and written English, follow recipes, check instructions at agreed times and organise familiar tasks independently without repeated reminders. Please ask when something is unclear and flag delays or missing supplies early.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR• Experience independently managing cooking and housework, preferably as the sole helper.• Enjoys cooking and learning additional recipes.• Genuinely likes children and dogs.• Takes pride in keeping a home clean and tidy.• Plans ahead and prioritises meal times and childcare commitments.• Communicates respectfully and receives feedback constructively.

We will introduce our family’s routines, but need someone with established cooking and household-management skills.

LIVING ARRANGEMENTYou will sleep in our son’s room, as he sleeps with us. The room is shared with the family during the day, but you will have it to yourself with privacy at night. You will have your own bathroom and space for personal belongings.

EMPLOYMENT PACKAGE• Salary discussed according to relevant experience and skills.• Four rest days per month.• Performance and salary review after six months.• Renewal salary review, bonus, paid home leave and flights discussed during the interview.
