Experienced Toddler Carer with Early Childhood Experience

We are a warm family in Singapore looking for an experienced helper to join us, with the main priority being the care, development and day-to-day routine of our toddler, who is approaching two years old.

As he will be spending much of his day at home, we are especially interested in someone with early childhood education, preschool, nursery, teaching or childcare experience, or someone who has previously been very involved in the learning and development of young children.

At this age, learning happens through everyday interaction and play. We would love someone who genuinely enjoys reading, talking and singing with children, doing simple creative and sensory activities, going outdoors, visiting parks and libraries, and encouraging curiosity and independence.

We are looking for someone who is kind, patient, attentive and a good listener. Someone who communicates openly, follows instructions well and is comfortable asking questions when unsure. Good English is important as we would like her to speak, read and communicate with him regularly throughout the day.

The role includes:

• Caring for our toddler, including meals, naps, bath time, outings and play
• Planning simple age-appropriate learning and play activities
• Reading, talking, singing and engaging with him throughout the day
• Preparing healthy meals and snacks
• Following his routine and our instructions consistently
• Keeping his room, toys and belongings clean and organised
• Taking him to activities, parks and libraries
• General household cleaning and laundry
• Cooking simple, healthy family meals
• Grocery shopping and household organisation

Our ideal candidate would have:

• Strong experience with toddlers aged 1 to 4
• Early childhood, preschool, nursery, teaching or childcare experience
• A genuine interest in children’s learning and development
• Good spoken and written English
• A calm, gentle and caring personality
• Good listening and communication skills
• A stable employment history, ideally with completed contracts
• A current or previous employer who can provide a reference
• Good hygiene and child-safety standards
• Experience preparing healthy meals for children
• Confidence taking a child to activities and outings independently

Formal early-childhood qualifications would be a big advantage, but practical preschool, nursery, teaching or childcare experience is also very welcome.

We value someone who is proactive and able to plan ahead, while also respecting the parents’ preferences and routines. If unsure about something, we would always prefer her to ask rather than assume.
