Transfer Helper Needed – Japanese Family
We are a Japanese family living in Singapore in a 3-bedroom condominium with a helper’s room, with 2 adults and 2 children (8-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy).
We are a kind and respectful family and are looking for a calm, responsible, and child-loving helper who enjoys being part of our family.
Main duties
• Spend time with our 4-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter
• Send and pick up our son from school (10-minute walk)
• Pick up our daughter at the condominium entrance
• Take the children outside for play and activities
• Read simple English books and play indoors
• Prepare meals (someone who is good at cooking is highly welcome), help with household chores, cleaning, and grocery shopping
• Accompany the family on overseas trips when necessary
Children’s schedule
• Children usually wake up around 6:30 AM and go to bed around 9:00 PM. During the day, both children are at school.
• Sometimes you will take both children outside, sometimes only our son
• When my husband is away, the helper may occasionally sleep in the same room as our son
• Normally, the helper will have her own private room in the condo
• The children speak English, so the helper should be able to communicate with them in English.
Religious and meal considerations
• We welcome Muslim or Christian helpers.
• Muslim helpers are asked to perform prayers on their rest days. Meals are usually the same as the family’s, and pork is cooked separately. During Ramadan, meals are still eaten normally. Adjustments can be discussed as needed.
• Christian helpers have no special requirements.
• Meal allowance is not provided.
Requirements
• Indonesian or Myanmar preferred
• Able to communicate in English
• Experience in Singapore preferred
• Able to take public transport (bus)
• Calm, responsible, follows instructions carefully, enjoys playing with children
• Current employer reference preferred
Salary: up to $750
Rest days: 2 per month
Start date: End March / early April
Future: salary or rest days may increase at renewal after 2 years
Additional notes
We plan to stay in Singapore long-term and hope to build a calm and friendly relationship with our helper, while respecting the employer-helper relationship. We ask that the helper follow the contract, and any requests beyond the initial agreement can be discussed when appropriate. Since our yearly schedule, including the children’s, is mostly fixed, we hope the helper can respect our family’s daily rhythm.
