Looking for Helper – Cooking, Housekeeping and Child Care

About Our Home

We are a family of three living in a three-bedroom condominium near NUS. The helper will have a separate room near the kitchen. We are looking for an experienced and reliable helper who is strong in cooking and housekeeping, and who can communicate fluently in English.

• 2 working adults and a 10-year-old daughter
• Our daughter is mostly independent and attends a nearby international school
• No pets

My husband and I are working professionals. We have studied and worked in the United States before moving to Singapore, and we value mutual respect, professionalism, and clear communication.

As our child is older, clear and fluent communication is especially important. She is bilingual in English and Chinese at a native level, so the helper should be very strong in at least one of these languages, without requiring excessive rephrasing or explanation.

As she is about to enter her teenage years, patience and understanding from the helper are also important. Experience with older children or teenage girls would be a plus.

Requirements

1. Previous employer reference required (SG preferred; HK/Taiwan acceptable)
2. Completed at least 1 full contract in Singapore (or full contract in HK/Taiwan if no SG)
3. Preferably renewed with previous employer
4. Must be good at cooking Chinese food
5. Good personal hygiene and attention to cleanliness are required
6. Good spoken English is important
7. Understanding spoken Chinese is a plus (not mandatory)

Handphone usage

Reasonable handphone use is allowed after working hours.

During working hours, handphone use should be minimal and work-related (e.g. communication or checking recipes for cooking).

Work Scope & Daily Routine

The job scope in our home is straightforward. Main responsibilities include cooking daily meals, preferably Chinese food and healthy home-style meals, with Western food prepared occasionally as our daughter enjoys it. General housekeeping duties include cleaning, laundry, keeping the home tidy and organized, and grocery shopping as needed. The helper will also provide assistance with our child, mainly with the morning routine and school drop-off/pick-up.

Both my husband and I work full-time and are usually not at home during weekday daytime hours, and our daughter is also in school during the day. As a result, the daily workload is relatively light, allowing the helper ample time to manage household tasks comfortably.

Nationality Preference

· Filipino helpers preferred, mainly due to English proficiency

· Helpers from Indonesia or Myanmar are welcome to apply if fluent in English and meet the above requirements
