Seeking Kind Caregiver for Elderly Chinese-American couple

Greetings! We are seeking a caregiver for my elderly parents to start in mid-late May 2021. Salary range is SG800-900 but can be negotiable depending on the right candidate. You will have your own air-conditioned room in a condo with my parents.

We are seeking a kind, honest, and experienced helper to take care of my elderly parents (Chinese-American, aged 83 and 71). About my mom and dad:

• Both speak fluent English
• Dad is very independent except with minor difficulty walking; he enjoys eating (Chinese food) very much so you must be a good cook!
• Mom has Parkinson's dementia so she is a bit slower in speech, although dementia is in early stages. She needs help with walking as her mobility is limited; sometimes needs to use wheelchair and needs support with bathing/showering, accompanying to the toilet, getting in and out of bed, changing her clothes, doing exercises, and administering medicine

Your duties to include:

• Taking care of my mom and dad
• Mainly supporting mom in all aspects (bathing, changing, doing exercises, taking medication, visiting doctors, engage her in activities etc)
• Cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping 
• Accompanying parents for outside meals, exercise, and other activities 

Skills and qualities we are looking for:

• Experience with taking care of elderly folk, especially with Parkinson’s disease or Dementia/Alzheimer’s 
• Very patient, kind, and has a good sense of humour!
• Enjoys spending time with the elderly 
• Engages seniors in activities 
• Can cook Chinese food well
• Speaks good English 
• Willingness to be flexible on working public holidays and Sundays (will be paid of course!)

What we will provide:

• Own air conditioned room in condo 
• Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

We live close by to them so you will have support from me, their daughter.
