Hi, my name is Aniswa, but you can call me Anne. I'm 25 years old, divorced, and I don't have any children yet. I'm the oldest sibling in my family and I have two younger brothers.
I’ve been living in Hong Kong since November 2023. This is my first time working with a Chinese-Malaysian family. I use English every day to take care of their child who is 3 years old. He’s very active—he loves to run and jump, and he’s really curious. So, I make sure to stay extra focused when I’m looking after him.
When it comes to cooking, I often make Asian dishes because my employer is Malaysian. Some of the meals I like to prepare include Laksa, chicken curry, fried noodles, and chili sauce.
They were really nice to me, but I only worked there for 8 months. Unfortunately, they had some financial issues and asked me to find a new job.
Currently, I’m with a new employer where I take care of my grandparents. There are four adults in the house, and while they are healthy, I do need to hold the grandpa’s hand when he walks. My job is to look after them and help them with whatever they need. In this role, I use Cantonese a lot. Besides cleaning the house, I also go grocery shopping, sometimes with grandma and sometimes on my own, and I cook based on my employer's preferences. I cook for four adults. I will finish my contract in August 2026, and I hope to find a new job soon.
