Anna Rose

Hello! Ma'am/Sir, I'm Anna Rose, but you can call me Anna. I'm 41 years old, married, and I have one child. I’m originally from the Philippines and I’ve been working here in Hong Kong for 12 years as a domestic helper.

My first job was with a family of two adults and a newborn baby. I was with them for six years, and my responsibilities included taking care of the baby, cleaning, cooking, ironing, washing the car, and tutoring.

Then, I worked for a second family with three adults and a two-year-old boy. Unfortunately, I could only stay for two months. My duties were looking after the little boy, cooking, cleaning, ironing, and tutoring. I decided to resign because the work was too much for me, the standards were really high, and there wasn’t enough food. I would wake up at 6 AM and often finish around midnight. I was worried about my health because I lost a lot of weight and got sick frequently, so I knew I had to leave.

After that, I worked for another family with two adults and a newborn baby. I was with them for a year and a half until they moved to the UK, which is why my contract was terminated.

Now, I’m with my current employer, who has three adults and one child. I’ve been with them for 4 years and 6 months. My main duties include taking care of the child, picking her up and dropping her off at the bus stop, bringing her to activities, tutoring, cleaning, and cooking. We started off living in Northpoint together, but after the couple separated, I moved to live with the grandparents in Sai Wan Ho. I have a great relationship with my current employer and the child; however, there is a bit of a challenge with the grandparents because they don’t speak or understand English very well. Sometimes, I misunderstand their instructions due to the language barrier, which can be a bit frustrating. That is why I’m planning to break my contract for personal reasons, and I can be released anytime once I find a new employer. I take pride in being honest, trustworthy, responsible, and hardworking. I also really love working with kids.
