Good day, Mam/Sir. I am Bernadette Yap, 41 years old, and a mother of a 21-year-old college student. Previously, I worked as a domestic helper in Singapore for 8 years before moving to Hong Kong during the pandemic. I arrived here on August 6, 2002, and my contract is due to finish this coming August. In Singapore, my duties included cooking, marketing, housekeeping, and car washing. My previous employer was an Indian national, and as they were vegetarian, I cooked vegetable Indian dishes for them for 4 years. I also took care of newborn babies. Here in Hong Kong, I cook Chinese dishes, focusing on simpler preparations like stir-fried vegetables and steamed fish. If given the chance to work with your family in the future, I will do my best to meet your expectations.
