Hello Employers!

My name is Janie, and I’m 38 years old from the Philippines. I’ve been working in Hong Kong for 14 years now. My current employers are a family of four adults and one child, and I’ve been with them for 2 years and 9 months. My main duty is taking care of their youngest daughter. I wake her up in the morning, prepare her breakfast, and take her to school. After that, I do some marketing and then clean the house. I pick her up at 3 PM and bring her to her after-school activities, then wait until she finishes before heading home. I also help her with her homework, especially reading and English dictation. I usually get her ready for a bath around 5 PM, and then I start preparing dinner. I manage my time using a timetable. Unfortunately, I am terminated and I will be released on August 20, 2026. I am now looking for a new employer.

My first experience as a domestic helper started in December 2011 and lasted until June 2023. I worked for a family with three adults and twin boys. My main responsibility was taking care of the twins, making sure they got up in the morning, had breakfast, and were dressed in their school uniforms before taking them to school. Later, when the twins went to high school, I shifted to looking after their grandmother. I acted as her caregiver; she had a colostomy, and I was trained by a nurse in the hospital to clean and change her colostomy bag. It was quite a challenging job, but I really enjoyed taking care of her. Thank you!
