Hi, I'm Joanna Ma. I'm 44 years old, and I've been a domestic helper in Hong Kong for almost 10 years. I've worked for two employers from the same family, who are sisters. My first employer I stayed with for 8 years; they had 2 adults and a 13-year-old boy. My tasks included cleaning, laundry, marketing, cooking, and taking the boy to school. When my first employer released me, I immediately started working for her sister, who has a family of three—2 adults and a baby. I began caring for the baby when she was just 3 months old. I really enjoy taking care of babies and kids! My responsibilities included cleaning, laundry, marketing, and cooking meals for the family and baby. Every day, I would take the baby to the playground to play. I’ve been with this family nearly long enough to finish my contract, but they are releasing me early. Currently, I’m working for my third employer, a family of four with two babies (twins). I'm about to finish my 2-year contract with them on September 20, 2025.
