Good day, Ma’am/Sir. My name is Jonalyn, I’m 36 years old, and I have four kids, all boys. I graduated from high school, and I’m married.
I have some work experience from my home country, the Philippines, where I worked as a helper for a family of three for two years. My duties included cleaning the house, cooking, washing clothes, taking care of one child, and tutoring in basic English. I finished my contract there.
My second job was in Malaysia as a helper where I took care of three kids—two of them were 9-year-old twins, and the other was 8 years old. I cooked and prepared meals just for the kids, and I also helped them get to and from school. I followed them to their activities like swimming lessons, piano lessons, and badminton practice. I worked for my employer in Malaysia for just over a year, spending 2 months there and almost 11 months in Shanghai, China. I ended up breaking my contract because my employer moved me to China but kept my salary the same as it was in Malaysia, which wasn’t enough for me.
