Hi, I’m Joy, and I’m 43 years old. Right now, I’m working for a Canadian family here in Hong Kong. They have two adults, two kids, and a dog, and their home is about 2,500 sq/ft. I’ve been with them for two months as a full-time helper. My daily routine includes making breakfast and packing lunch for the kids, cleaning the house, doing laundry and ironing, as well as taking care of the backyard and swimming pool. I also cook dinner for the family. Unfortunately, I’m planning to break my contract, and I can leave anytime once I find a new job.

I’ve been in Hong Kong for almost 20 years. I spent about 10 years working for a Chinese employer, and then I worked for a French-German family in a bigger house, about 3,500 sq/ft for 4 years. My tasks there included washing two cars, cleaning the swimming pool, and handling all the household chores, along with laundry, ironing, baking, and cooking dinner. They had three kids, and I helped with their activities too. I worked there for four years until my contract ended. After that, I was with a British couple in a 2,000 sq/ft house for four years and nine months, but I left because they were moving. They gave me a good release letter, which I’m grateful for.
