Karen

Hi, I’m Karen from the Philippines. I’m 41 years old and a single mother with one child. I’ve been working here in Hong Kong for 8 years with two employers. I worked with my first employer for 2 years until my contract finished. I’ve been with my second employer for 6 years, and that contract is also finishing up soon.

My main duties involve taking care of the kids. I pick them up and drop them off at school, cook for them, and pack their lunch boxes. While they are at school, I take care of house chores like cleaning, washing and ironing clothes, and preparing dinner for them. I always keep an eye on the time to make sure I’m there for class dismissal and to take them to their extracurricular activities afterward. And I genuinely love the kids as if they were my own.
