Hi, I’m Elena. I’m 34 years old and I’m from the Philippines. I’ve been working as a domestic helper in Hong Kong for a few years now. My Chinese employer just moved away, so I’m looking for a new position. I worked with them for 5 years and 5 months, from 2021 to 2025, taking care of their two boys who were 7 months and 3 years old. My main duties included looking after the kids, cleaning, cooking, washing, doing the marketing, and even tutoring. It was a really happy and meaningful experience for me.

Right now, I’m with another Chinese family, and I’ve been with them for almost 10 months since August 2025. I care for their 6-year-old girl and help the couple as well. I handle the cleaning, cooking, washing, and I also drop off and pick up the kid from school and other activities. Unfortunately, I’m planning to break my contract and can be released anytime once I find a new employer. The work environment isn’t healthy anymore. My employers tend to shout and speak negatively every day, and they don’t allow me to wash my clothes at home. So, on my days off Sundays I have to take all my laundry, including blankets and bedsheets, to my sister’s place to wash. I truly believe I deserve a better situation where I can contribute positively to a family while also growing in a happy environment. Thank you for considering me!
