Hi, I’m Maribeth. I’m 36 years old and a single mom to a 16-year-old daughter. I've been working here in Hong Kong for almost 12 years now. My first job was with a Chinese family of four. It was a couple with a newborn and a 2-year-old when I started. The grandma would come by to help with the kids. My main focus was on taking care of them, doing household chores, and cooking simple meals. I stayed with them for 4 years. Then I worked with a Canadian-Chinese family of four for 6 years. They had a couple of kids, with the older one having special needs. I was hired while the mom was still pregnant with their second baby. I worked alongside a co-worker, and we would take turns with our schedules, especially for the kids. I also handled household chores, cooking, and shopping. Currently, I’m with a British family of three. It’s a couple and their little boy who is almost two. My main responsibility is taking care of him, going with him to appointments, school, and playdates, and taking him to fun places like playgrounds and playrooms. I also take care of the household chores, shopping, and cooking. My current employer trusts me to organize my time and do all these tasks without needing supervision. Plus, I have a Pediatric First Aid certificate.
