Hi, I'm Marilyn. I'm 36 years old, married, and I have two boys who are 12 and 8 years old. I worked in Qatar from 2019 to 2021, which was about two years and three months. I finished my contract there, then stayed an extra three months while waiting for my replacement. My employer was a Qatari who had a family of four. My main responsibilities included cooking basic Arabic food, doing house chores like cleaning, washing, and ironing clothes, and shopping (I usually went with my employer because, as you might know, Qatar has some strict rules). I also took care of their two girls, who were 7 and 4. That involved bathing them, preparing their meals, picking them up from school, playing with them, and ensuring their safety.

Right now, I’m in Hong Kong, where I’ve been working since October 14, 2022, and I will finish this contract on October 14, 2026.

I’m serving a family of three here. My tasks include cleaning the house, shopping for groceries, cooking simple Chinese food, and washing and ironing clothes. I play with the child, both indoors and outdoors, always making sure she is safe. Sometimes, I also pick up and drop off the kids at school if their parents can’t make it since they are very hands-on.
