Mary Joy

Hi, I’m Mary Joy. I’m 30 years old and I’m a Filipino helper. I’ve been working here in Hong Kong for 2 years as a domestic helper. Right now, I’m with an Indonesian Chinese family. There’s one adult, an elderly lady who is 87, and a 14-year-old girl with autism. My contract will finish on August 2, 2026. I can handle all kinds of household chores like cleaning, laundry, shopping, and some cooking. My main responsibility is taking care of popo. I help her with her medicines, take her to appointments, and go out to eat with the family. I also look after my employer’s daughter, who doesn’t speak. I help her shower, cook her meals, and assist her with eating and using the bathroom. I take her to Central for her sports activities, too. When her mom is away, we sleep in the same room because she feels more comfortable that way. I believe my strengths are my patience and my ability to follow clear plans based on what my employers need. I’m also proactive and trustworthy. I always try to understand and follow instructions to make sure my employers are happy with my work, while also respecting boundaries to build a good relationship with the family.
