Hi, I’m Myrna, and I’m 34 years old. I’ve been working as a domestic helper in Hong Kong for over 10 years with just one employer. I started with this family in March 2016, and I’ve been with them until now. They rehired me in December 2024. I work for a Chinese family of four, which includes two adults and two kids. I take care of two boys, ages 14 and 10. I have a co-helper, and we rotate our duties each month. When I’m looking after the older boy, I also manage cooking, shopping, gardening, pet care, and cleaning the house. The younger boy has ADHD, so I pay extra attention to his needs. For my female employer, I help prepare everything she requires and keep her things like clothes, shoes, and accessories organized at home. I will finish my 2-year contract on December 6, 2026, and I’m now looking for a new employer. I would describe myself as hardworking and really open to learning new things. I make sure to separate my job responsibilities from personal issues, and I’m not afraid to admit when I make mistakes and apologize right away. I’m also strong and independent.
