Rowena

Hi, I’m Rowena, and I’m 37 years old. I’ve been working as a domestic helper for over 6 years now. I have experience taking care of kids, and I can help them with basic English and Mathematics too. For three years, I looked after two kids in Malaysia. I also cooked for the whole family there, but mostly for the kids since their parents were often at work. After my time in Malaysia, I moved to Hong Kong. My first employer here was a family of adults. I mainly did cleaning, and sometimes I would help in the kitchen, but since I had a coworker in charge of cooking, I focused a lot on cleaning, washing, and ironing. I finished my contract there.

Now, I’m with my second employer, who also has a family of four adults. I started this job in February 2025, so I’ve been here for about a year and seven months. My responsibilities include cleaning, washing clothes (both in the machine and by hand), cooking, washing cars, and taking care of the plants on their balcony. Because of some personal reasons, I’ve decided to break my contract, and my last working day will be on September 16, 2026.

I always give my best at work since this is how I support myself. I strive to make my employers happy and satisfied with what I do. I listen carefully to their instructions because they are my bosses, and I offer suggestions if they ask or need help. I can work independently without needing someone to supervise me, as I take the initiative in my tasks. If I make a mistake, I will admit it and do my best to correct it and avoid repeating it.
