My name is Shareth, and I have worked in Hong Kong as a domestic helper for nearly 11 years, from 2011 to 2022. My first employer was a couple with two children, aged 6 and 8 years old, living in a 1,024 square foot home. My responsibilities included performing all household chores such as cleaning, shopping, cooking, laundry, ironing, washing dishes, tutoring, and caring for the children. I have a strong passion for cooking and also looked after two cats. However, my employers decided to relocate to Canada, which resulted in the need to let go of their helper. My second employer, who is actually the sister of my previous employer, had a smaller home measuring 500 square feet. I began working for them in 2022 and continued until February 15, 2025. My duties included the same range of household chores: cleaning, shopping, cooking, laundry, ironing, and washing dishes. Unfortunately, due to their financial issues, they ultimately no longer required the assistance of a helper.
