Hi, my name is Winie. I’m 35 years old, single, and I have two kids. I've been working as a domestic helper for almost three years in Saudi Arabia where I took care of a newborn and did general household tasks. After saving up, I decided to go back home and apply for a job in Hong Kong. Just a month later, I got hired by a family in Hong Kong to care for their newborn baby. I worked there for almost three years, even during the pandemic. They had three kids in total, including the newborn. My main focus was on the newborn, but I also took the older sister to school occasionally. They had a dog too, so I helped take care of it, walking it in the park with the kids and making sure it was groomed and up-to-date with vaccinations. When the pandemic hit, the family decided to go back to China, and that’s when our contract ended. Luckily, I found a new job within just three days. My new employers needed someone to care for their three kids—one girl and twins. I've been with them for almost six years now, and my contract is ending in July. After working together for four years, we decided that each of us helpers would focus more on either the kids or housework. I chose to focus on housework mainly, which includes cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning, and laundry. So far, it has been going quite well. But since the kids are growing up, I’m looking for a new job with a higher salary. My kids are also getting older, and my expenses are rising. They study in public school which doesn’t have tuition fees, but when my son graduates high school, he'll be going to college, and those costs will go up. That’s the reason I’m looking for another job. So, if you decide to hire me, I promise you won’t regret it.
