Good day Ma’am and Sir,
I’m Yael Jolyn, I’m 27 years old and married, but I don’t have kids yet. I graduated from vocational school with a certificate in Housekeeping NC II. My husband is currently working in the Philippines. I have three sisters who are 25, 19, and 15 years old, and I'm the youngest. Sadly, my dad isn’t working right now, and my mom is taking care of my grandmother, who is bedridden.
I came to work abroad to help support my family and to build my dreams here in Hong Kong.
Back in the Philippines, I worked as a domestic helper for 2 years and 5 months, taking care of a family of three. My duties included cleaning, washing dishes, caring for pets, and looking after a 9-year-old child. I would send her to school and prepare her meals.
Now, I have been working in Hong Kong for 3 months as a domestic helper for a family of four, including two kids aged 6 and 14. Sometimes, the grandparents stay with us for a month, so that's six family members in total.
I handle household chores like cleaning, washing clothes, cooking, shopping for groceries, and taking care of pets. However, my main responsibility is caring for the 6-year-old. I prepare her milk, meals, uniforms, and take her to school.
Unfortunately, I am considering breaking my contract here for a few reasons: I feel I can't meet my employer's expectations and standards, there's been delay in my salary, I often don’t have enough food, I haven’t been given overtime pay, and I’m frequently shouted at.
Thank you, and God bless you all 🥰
I truly hope to find a better employer. I promise to work hard and do my best to support your family. I am honest, trustworthy, respectful, and hardworking ❤️
