Hi, I’m Angelyn, 28 years old, and I’m from the Philippines. I’ve been a working student for 8 years, starting from high school all the way to my fourth year of college. I did this because of the challenges of poverty. I believe that poverty shouldn’t stop anyone from reaching their goals, and that’s why I kept pushing forward. Balancing school and work has been tough. I study Monday through Friday, and then I work on Saturdays and Sundays. I work for a family of five, with two adults and three kids. I really enjoy taking care of the kids; I help them with their homework when they come home from school. I find happiness in what I do and I always strive to get the job done well. My employers have been very supportive of me throughout this journey. They ensure that I have time for my studies after work and even give me a little extra money to help with my education. They’ve joined me in celebrating my milestones, including my graduation. They encouraged me to focus on my thesis so that I could walk across the stage to receive my diploma. I consider myself honest, trustworthy, and always eager to learn new things. I’m excited about finding a new employer who values these qualities. Thank you for considering me!
