Cherry Mae

I worked as a working student from my first year in college until my third year. I stayed with my aunt, who supported my studies in exchange for helping her at home. I took care of her five children — preparing their meals and packed lunches for school. When the three older kids were in school, I bathed and fed the two younger ones, put them to sleep, and then did household chores such as cleaning the house and doing the laundry.In the evening, I attended my classes. I was able to manage this routine for three years. When I was about to graduate, my parents brought me back home because my sibling had already finished school. This was my experience as a helper.
