Hi! I’m Dominga, but you can call me Doms for short. I'm 33 years old now, and I’m married with three kids—a boy and two girls. My husband works as a civil engineer here in Isabela, where we live. I also come from a big family with eight siblings and a father who is a farmer. I began my journey when I was 23, back in 2015. People often think I have a lot of money because my husband has a government job, but that's not the case! I want to earn my own money so I can buy things I like, go places I want, and help build our future together. That’s why I decided to leave my family and explore working in foreign countries with new languages, cultures, and environments. I have six years of experience working as a domestic helper in the Middle East and Asia. My first employer was a Kuwaiti family with seven members—two adults and five teenage kids. My main tasks there included cleaning, laundry, ironing, and washing the car. I also helped the kids with their English homework whenever they needed assistance. I never really cooked Arabian food since my male employer didn’t want anyone in the kitchen—he preferred to keep it just for himself.
