I am Elinor, 32 years old and a high school graduate from Cagayan Valley in the Philippines. I'm a single mom with three wonderful daughters who are 15, 13, and 11 years old. I've worked in two different countries, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. In Jordan, I spent 2 years as a nanny and domestic helper for a family of five, which included a grandmother, a couple, and twin girls who were three years old. My main job was to take good care of the twins. I made sure they had healthy meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I prepared healthy snacks for them too. I helped them with their baths, taught them about hygiene, and helped them learn colors, numbers, letters, and animals. We had a lot of fun singing, dancing, and playing together, both indoors and outdoors. At night, I would prepare their milk and read them bedtime stories. During my free time, I handled household chores like cleaning, cooking, laundry, and washing dishes. Recently, I worked for 4 years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with just one employer. In that job, I cared for a family of seven, which included a bedridden 90-year-old, four adults, and two kids aged 3 and 5. I prepared healthy meals for the elderly and checked her blood pressure and sugar three times a day. I also gave her medicine, helped her with bathing, and changed her clothes and diapers. When I had free time, I assisted my coworker with the two kids, prepared their meals, helped them bathe, and sometimes took them to school and picked them up. I also taught them about colors, numbers, letters, and animals, and did household chores similar to my previous job. That's a bit about my experience in these two countries.
