Ivy

My name is Ivy. I'm 44 years old, and I'm married with a 7-year-old daughter. I’m Roman Catholic, and I studied for a Bachelor of Science in Management, majoring in Human Resources, but I wasn't able to finish due to financial reasons. I come from a small province in the Philippines where farming is our family's main source of income.

I have 12 years of experience working in Hong Kong as a domestic helper for two different employers, both with completed contracts. My first job was from July 2004 to 2008, where I looked after a family of three: two adults and one child. My main responsibilities included caring for a 4-year-old, getting things ready for school, cooking healthy meals, and playing together, activities like biking, badminton, coloring, and watching cartoons. I also organized the child's toys, helped with homework, and supervised other learning activities, as well as doing general cooking and cleaning.

For my second employer, I worked from July 2009 to 2017, taking care of a child aged 5 and older. I prepared everything they needed, helped wake the children up, walked them to school every morning, and picked them up at 4:00 PM. I also took the child to piano lessons, swimming, and Cantonese classes. In addition to caring for children, I also helped take care of elderly family members—preparing and cooking breakfast and dinner, assisting them with what they needed, and giving medication or vitamins. I handled various household chores like washing clothes, doing dishes, ironing, cleaning, vacuuming, mopping floors, tidying up, changing beddings, cooking, watering plants, and shopping every day. I also took care of pets, including a turtle, hamster, cat, and dog. I have a reference letter from my 12 years in Hong Kong as well.

I genuinely love caring for children and find them fascinating because I believe they are gifts from God. I consider myself hardworking, patient, responsible, religious, and eager to learn everything I can.
