Jasmin

My name is Jasmin, and I'm 47 years old with three children from the Philippines. I've had a variety of jobs: I worked in housekeeping in Dubai, UAE from 2007 to 2014, then I was a hotel supervisor from 2015 to 2020, and I was a household worker from 2024 to 2025.

As a household worker, my main duties included keeping the house clean, preparing meals, and taking care of the baby. In the mornings, while my employers and the baby were still sleeping, I would start making breakfast. While cooking, I’d load the laundry into the washing machine. After getting the meals ready, I would clean the dishes and tidy up the house, water the plants, and feed the cat and dog. Once the laundry was hung out, I’d make a list of things we needed to buy. When the baby woke up, I would feed her, give her a bath, and give her vitamins. Sometimes in the afternoon, I would take her out to the garden or the park. That would be my daily routine. The car washing would depend on my employer; most of the time, they would take the car to a wash shop. On weekends, my madam would give me a budget for groceries. At night before I go to bed, I would take out the garbage and iron my boss's clothes and uniforms.
