Hi, I'm Jenny! ☺️ I'm currently in Hong Kong working for a family of three—two parents and a 9-year-old girl. My job involves taking care of the little one: I prepare breakfast, pack lunch boxes for everyone, and make sure she gets to the school bus on time. I also pick her up after her math, English, and Chinese classes. They have a big dog, and I love pets! In addition to that, I cook dinner, clean the house, do laundry once a week, wash the car, and iron clothes. I’ve been with this family for two years and I’m looking for a new job since they don’t need full-time help anymore.
Before this, I spent over 8 years working in Singapore. I started with a family that had one grandmother, one couple, and two boys who were 3 and 5 years old. I did a lot of heavy cleaning while the grandmother took care of the kids' school activities. My main tasks were cleaning, cooking, ironing, and doing laundry. The grandmother trained me really well in housekeeping, and I'm grateful for that experience.
After that, I moved to a British family who had just relocated to Singapore. There were a couple and two girls, also around ages 3 and 5. I took them to dance and swimming classes and picked them up from school. We lived in a nice condo with a separate room for helpers, which I liked for the privacy. My work mainly focused on cooking, laundry, ironing, and shopping. I also prepared breakfast, dinner, and snacks for the kids after school. When they had to move again, I transitioned to another family.
This new family was Chinese, and there were four adults aged 66, 67, 29, and 38. My main duties were cooking, shopping, gardening, washing the car, and assisting the grandma who has polio and needs help when running errands. I really enjoyed preparing meals, juices, and salads for the family, and I worked with them for over four years. We still keep in touch, which is great!
Now, I'm looking for a long-term job opportunity in Hong Kong. I would prefer Saturdays off since I'm a pastor and have church services on that day. I also prefer a food allowance so I can make healthy choices within my food budget, and I'm looking for a salary above the minimum wage.
I’m a positive, energetic person, and I'm committed to giving my best. I pray that God will lead me to a family that feels like an extended family here in Hong Kong. I will serve that family with the same dedication as I serve my God.
I’m excited to meet whoever answers my prayer—a great employer that matches my strengths and experience.
