Hi, I’m Judy. I’m 40 years old, married, and I have one child. I’ve been working as a helper in Singapore for 4 years and 4 months. My first employer had an elderly man, or ahgong, who was bedridden with dementia. I took care of him for a year and a half until he passed away. After that, I continued to work for the family, helping to take care of ahma for 3 years and 9 months.
My second employer had an elderly lady, or ahma, who was bedridden due to Parkinson's disease, but I only worked with them for 6 months because the family decided to move ahma to a nursing home, so I was no longer needed.
With my third employer, I took care of a gentleman who had a stroke, but I only worked for them for 20 days. He was quite large, and I found it difficult to carry him, so I decided to return to my home country to take a little rest for about a month.
Now, I’m ready to find a new family to work with, and I hope to be able to understand some simple Hokkien. Thank you!
