Hi everyone, I’m Laarni from the Philippines. I’m 39 years old. I started working in Singapore in 2018 and completed a 4-year contract, which ended in 2022. I worked for a Chinese Singaporean family, which included ma'am, sir, their grandmother and grandfather, one maid, and me. My main responsibility was taking care of the grandfather, who was 92 years old. Every morning when he woke up, I would help him shower, clean his eyes, prepare breakfast, and give him his medicine. After that, we would go downstairs for a one-hour walk. At 8 AM, we would leave for the center until 3:50 PM, and I would help the other maid with cleaning. Grandma did the cooking, so I learned how to make some Chinese food. I decided to transfer jobs when the grandfather passed away. My second employer was Filipino, and I worked there temporarily while looking for a new job, mainly doing cleaning. For my third employer, I started in 2022 and I'm with them until November 4, 2025. This family is also Chinese Singaporean, and it includes ma'am, sir, their son, the grandmother, one maid, and me. I take care of the grandmother, and my daily routine includes helping her shower, preparing breakfast, and doing exercises with her. I also manage her insulin injections and medications, and at night, I help her with her half-bath. I check her blood pressure and sugar levels too. Twice during the night, at 1 AM and 4 AM, I wake up to change her diaper and check her blood pressure and sugar again. When I have free time, I help the maid with cleaning the house and cooking, plus taking care of their three dogs. I decided to go back to the Philippines because my father passed away.
