Hello, I’m Lea, 43 years old, and I’ve been living in the Philippines since March 23, 2026. I have four children—two boys and two girls—with my husband. My last job ended because we mutually agreed to terminate my contract since they offered me a position in their company. While I waited for my visa, I worked as a housekeeper here in the Philippines starting in July 2026. Unfortunately, after about a month, the Hong Kong Labour Department declined our application, and my employer apologized for what happened. Right now, I take care of one boy and one girl. I wake them up, cook breakfast, send them to school, clean the house, and even bring lunch to school. I also take them to their extracurricular activities. Most of the time, I’m the one on the go looking after the kids, as I have another helper who stays at home to clean and cook for dinner.
