I worked as a domestic helper in Hong Kong for 8 years, from 2001 to 2009. My first employer was for 2 years, and then I spent 6 years with my second employer. Even though my employers had a big family—3 adults (a grandmother, a master and ma'am) and 3 kids (8 years old, 3 years old, and an infant), I really enjoyed my time with them. They treated me like part of the family, and I was happy to be there. My duties included house cleaning, ironing, grocery shopping, cooking Chinese food, cleaning the car, and taking care of the kids. But in 2009, I decided to go back home to be with my husband and build a happy family. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out. Now, I want to start fresh, work again, and save money for myself. Even though I'm 54 years old, I’m still strong and healthy. I’m trustworthy, hardworking, and adaptable. I pay attention to instructions and ask questions if I'm unsure. I have empathy and care, especially when it comes to looking after young children. I’m honest, and I respect your home and private spaces. If I make a mistake, I’ll be straightforward about it. I really hope a kind employer will give me a chance to work again. Thank you so much.
