Hi, I’m Maria Jean, 33 years old, and I’m from the Philippines. I worked as a domestic helper in the UAE from December 2023 to April 2026. During that time, I took care of five children, ages 1 month, 5, 6, 10, and 12. My responsibilities included cleaning, ironing, washing, and preparing healthy meals for the kids.

I have a kind approach with children and I really don’t like shouting. I prefer to talk calmly, especially when they misbehave. I treat the kids like they’re my own, even though I don’t have any. I also see my employer as a second family. If I ever make a mistake, I’m honest about it. I focus on my work and respect what doesn’t belong to me. I work hard with good intentions, not just for myself but also for my parents’ future.
