My name is Maricel, and I’m 45 years old. I’m a single mother and I’ve been working as a domestic helper for 10 years in Singapore and 8 years in Hong Kong. In Singapore, I worked for a Chinese family and completed my contract with them. My last employer in Singapore was a French family who later moved to Hong Kong. I worked with them for 5 years total, and when I joined them, they had a 5-year-old son and a newborn baby. I learned a lot from them, like baking and cooking Western meals. When they returned to their home country, they referred me to their friends who had 3 kids. Then, I moved again during COVID to work for a French African family with 3 kids. I managed everything, taking care of the kids, sending them to school, picking them up, and handling all the housework and cooking. I’m hardworking, honest, trustworthy, patient with kids, and I can work independently.
