Maridol

Hello, my name is Maridol. I'm 39 years old, and I live in Bulacan, Philippines. I am a single parent to my 13-year-old daughter. I worked in Taiwan for almost 6 years. My first job was in Pingtung, where I took care of an 81 year old grandmother. I lived in the house with her, while my employer didn’t stay there. My main responsibilities included helping her bathe, giving her medication, and changing her diaper. In the afternoons, we would take walks together, and I cooked her meals, making sure they were soft foods she liked, like milk fish and rice porridge. I also washed our clothes and cleaned the house. For my second employer, I took care of both a grandmother and a grandfather. My contract was primarily with the grandfather. I helped the grandmother with cleaning the house and washing their clothes too. We shared a room since there were only three of us in the house, the grandparents and me. I was responsible for the grandfather as well, helping him with bathing, changing his diaper, and giving him medication. He had dementia and sometimes couldn't sleep at night, which could be quite challenging. Thankfully, the grandmother was strong and healthy. Sadly, after four years, the grandfather fell ill and was in a coma for almost a month. I took care of him in the hospital during that time, and I learned how to do NG tube feeding and suctioning. Unfortunately, he passed away, which is why I returned to the Philippines. I am looking for a new employer. Thank you.
