Hi, I’m Mariel, and I’m 33 years old. I have three kids who are now 3, 6, and 8 years old. When I was 15, I started working as a student to help support my family. I worked for 3 years in the Philippines as a helper. When I turned 20, I became a household helper, doing all kinds of tasks like washing, cleaning, cooking, and taking care of children aged 1 and 7. At 21, I worked again as a household helper, but this time for a family with two adults, doing general helping duties. While I was there, they trained me to answer phone calls for their business, and I eventually became their assistant. Later on, I worked with a housekeeping agency as a cleaner. I’ve been lucky to have had kind employers throughout my journey.
