Before I went abroad, I worked hard back home. I used to wash dishes at a small restaurant during my breaks from class. After school in the afternoons, I would go to the restaurant to earn some money to help pay for my studies.
I finished high school in 2002. After graduating, I got a job as a sales lady in a minimart in the city, which is a bit far from my hometown. After a year, I went back home to find support for my college education because my mom is a widow, and I needed to help her and my siblings. I found a place called Assumption Academy that was willing to send me to college while I worked for them. They covered my tuition and gave me a monthly allowance. I worked hard to complete my two years in college. I worked at the school until 4 PM, then started my night classes at 5 PM. To cut a long story short, I graduated in two years with their help. After that, I applied to Kuwait and got a job as a nanny for a 3-year-old girl and a 7-month-old baby. I worked there for four years before coming back home.
Then I applied to work in Qatar as a household worker for a wealthy family in a mansion. There were four of us housemaids, and there were no kids—just adults. After two years in Qatar, I returned home and got married. I had two kids, and when my youngest turned two, I had to go back abroad due to financial issues. I went to Saudi Arabia to work as a nanny for a 7-year-old boy and as a housemaid. In 2020, I returned home during the COVID-19 pandemic. I spent three years in the Philippines trying to run a small business, but it didn’t go well, so I decided to go back abroad in 2023. I worked in the United Arab Emirates as a cook for an Emirati family, mostly making Arabic food, and I just returned home this January 2026. If I can find a kind-hearted employer, I would be willing to stay as long as they need me. I promise that I am hardworking, honest, trustworthy, and patient. God bless!
