Niecil

My name is Niecil. I’m 35 years old and a single mom with two children. My daughter is 17 and my son is 14. I’m from the Philippines, and I’ve worked as a domestic helper in Saudi Arabia for 2 years and 3 months.

In Saudi Arabia, I worked for a big family with 2 adults and 4 kids ages 1, 4, 7, and 10. I was one of 7 nannies, but my main responsibility was for the 10-year-old girl. My daily routine included taking her to school and picking her up afterward. I would also prepare her meals, wash her clothes, and tidy up her room every day. After finishing my tasks for her, I helped the other nannies clean the house and cook.

Here in the Philippines, I have 3 years of experience with one family that had 1 adult and 2 boys. When I started, the youngest was just 3 years old and the eldest was 5. My main duties included taking them to school and picking them up each day. If the parents were busy, I would attend school activities and meetings on my own. I also prepared their meals, helped them bathe, read to them, and played with them. I would sit beside the youngest while he took a nap. After that, I did laundry, ironed their clothes, and cleaned their rooms every day, as I shared duties with another helper in the house.
