Achadiyah Putri

I’m Achadiyah Putri, 27 years old, I’m from Indonesia. My first job was taking care of a 29-year-old man with an intellectual disability and seizures. I didn’t know about his condition until I arrived at his house three days into the job. I worked with him from January 4, 2024, to January 3, 2026. For my second contract, I worked for about 9 months. I am breaking my contract on October 5, 2026, because I found the workload too difficult to manage. Every time he had a seizure. He enjoyed going for walks outside, but he had many seizures on the road. He could still walk slowly, but he often lost his balance, and I had to support him by holding his arm over my shoulder. He had seizures four to six times a day. In addition to looking after him, I did household chores like sweeping, mopping, dusting, washing clothes, and cooking. I also took him for outpatient treatment at SGH every one to two months, where I discussed his symptoms with his doctor and prepared his medication according to the doctor’s instructions.
