Hello. My name is Khoirul, I'm 35 years old, single, and I'm from Indonesia. I've been working as a domestic helper in Singapore for 7 years now. For the past 4 years and 3 months, I've been with my current employer, a Chinese family with 2 adults. My role is to take care of Ah Ma, who has dementia and diabetes, and Ah Gong, who also has diabetes. I prepare their medicine, check their sugar levels, and measure their blood every day. I also cook for them, clean the house, and go to the market.

After that, I worked with another Chinese family for 2 years, where I took care of Ah Ma as well. I assisted her with walking, helped her shower, pushed her wheelchair, and took her to medical check-ups. I also prepared her medication and measured her blood sugar levels, giving insulin injections as needed. In this family, I also took care of 2 kids—one is 3 years old and the other is 1 year old. I would take the older child to kindergarten in the mornings and sometimes pick her up too. Along with that, I did cooking, toddler care, and kept the house clean and tidy.

My most recent job has been as a caregiver for a patient with cancer, which I've done for a year now. I learned how to give injections and administer other medications while caring for him at SGH and TTSH hospitals. He needed a lot of support, using a wheelchair, a walking stick, and other assistive devices, so I've become quite skilled in handling these situations. We always enjoyed healthy meals together as we aimed for a healthy diet, but sadly, my patient passed away on January 28, 2026. I will finish my contract on March 31, 2026, and I have my release papers ready.
