Adonalyn

Hello! I’m Adonalyn, and I’m from the Philippines. I’m 37 years old, married, and have one child. I’ve been living in Hong Kong since 2016. My first job was with a Chinese couple in Ma On Shan, where I took care of their two kids. I handled cooking, cleaning, shopping, and even washed the car. I was with them for about 4 years and 3 months, but I was let go because they didn’t offer long-term employment.

My second job was also with a Chinese family in Lam Tin. I started with them on November 2, 2020, and my contract will end on November 2, 2024. I took care of their household chores, looked after one turtle and one child. I decided not to renew my contract because my employer was very particular about cooking and slicing, and I really want to improve my cooking skills.

Currently, I work for a Chinese couple who are retired. I started with them on January 22, 2025, and my contract goes until January 22, 2027. Their two sons are grown up, so I mainly take care of their French bulldog and do the cooking and shopping. I’m considering not renewing my contract because my employer has dementia, which makes things quite challenging for me.
